LUCÍA BONFIGLIO
Italian - Uruguayan nationality. Started Learning art and making exhibtions since shw was a child. Bachelor of Communication Sciences. Master iin Graphic Arts. Lived in Spain and in Uruguay,
The combination of living in different cultures and working in advertising, graphic design and Arts, shows in her paintings a personal language, a mixture of cultures, with elements of real life, imagination, symbolic, abstract shapes and colours, and always telling something that it is wanted to be told. The concept is what guides the work.
Her oil paintings generally concerns about humanity. She has been interacting with the World Bank´s Uruguayan office since 2014, doing exhibitions with World Bank endorsement at Ralli Museum and also illustrating some of the World Bank publications. She has also exhibited her oil paintings with UNESCO in Argentina. In Spain, she made an exhibition called “Coexistence”, at the Politécnica University. Her art was taken to the International Art fair in Paris and to Madrid. In 2019 she exhibited her oil paintings and hand painted dresses (also designed by Bonfiglio) at the Instituto Cervantes in Río de Janeiro. In 2022 again in Río de Janeiro, in “Parque das Ruinas” she made an art exhibition about taking care of the Oceans. Then this “Oceans” exibition was shown in Milan, Rome, San Pablo (Brazil), the Italian Institute of Culture in Uruguay, and in 2023 in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2024 Bonfiglio made an art exhibition in Asunción, Paraguay. In May 2024, the Embassy of Costa Rica held an event in Colombia to raise awareness of the care of the Oceans with an exhibition of the works of the artist Bonfiglio from the "Oceans" series. In October 2024, the art series on dresses inspired by the work of José Gurvich will be on display at the Gurvich Museum.
